'the essence of what i share is about the magic and tranquility of the mountains and the space where needed. its not the glitsy cabaret style, focusing more on fluid sensual moves and the connection with our bodies and (allah/universe/god).'

‘Belly Dancing’ is believed to be one of the oldest forms of dance having survived thousands of years and developed from fertility dances associated with the Goddess cult. The dance of migrating Gypsies who travelled from India through the Middle East.

Incorporating Egyptian, Persian and Roma Dance styles to create an individualized movement unique within each body we explore our sensuality and femininity.

Using the basic moves and a wide range of music from classical Egyptian through to modern eastern beats, you are guaranteed to be shimmying with confidence.

Dance in the wadis under the stars. There are many places I have found where you can experience the strength of the mountains and the mystery of the dance in a safe  relaxed environment. From sleeping under the stars in a  place chosen by you to a detailed itinerary; everything is available.

I spend most of my time in the desert with the Bedouin and know many families that we can arrange to dance with.

Private lessons and/or small groups are my speciality. The less experience the more rewarding.

Come and blossom under the stars .......

Proposed Itinerary – 3

Abou Sila & St Katherine Protectorate

Day 1

On arrival in Sharm you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to Dahab by minibus.  Arrive in Dahab, where a welcome talk snacks and drinks await you. The essence of  the dance will be discussed and a brief overview of the week ahead. Overnight in tasteful personalised accommodation with ensuite single rooms.

Day 2

After the morning class followed by buffet breakfast we will begin the journey to St Katherine Protectorate by mini-bus.  This trip is a feast to your senses, the range of colours and shapes of the mountains draws you into this historically religious area. Accommodation in a hotel in the village of St Katherine with a dinner dance in a nearby wadi.

Day 3 - 6

Your tour of St Katherine starts at the famous Greek Monastery where a Bedouin will guide you through the medieval building rich in icons. From the monastery we will head to the Visitor Centre where an informative display on the Bedouin, Geology, Monastery and history encourages belief of the intense energy of the area. Fansina is a women’s co-operative of Bedouin crafts exclusive to the area, where you can purchase finely beaded bags, cushions etc hand made by the local women and creating for the first time an income and form of independence for them. After lunch we will be collected by a guide and camel to begin the journey through the desert, leaving all conventionalities and comforts behind.  This is the start of an introspective pilgramage through historic mountainous terrain at a steady pace with the choice of  riding a camel or by foot. We will sleep near the base of Jebel Musa (Mt Sinai) where Moses received the Ten Commandments and we will follow the paths of many prophets before. Nights are spent round the fire, under the moon & stars and sleeping on mattresses.  Food is cooked on the fire, Bedouin breads, tahina, salad, foul etc, a range of Bedouin meals. This is a time of peace and tranquillity and to explore more tribal earthy aspects of the dance.

Day 7

The Garden at Abou Sila is rich with organic fruits and vegetables and fresh water from the Bier (well). After the last dance class we walk the path to the village of Abou Silah where we will be met by our transport to Dahab. Arriving in Dahab after sunset to the comforts of a shower and chance to buy crafts, hip belts, momentos of your stay in the Sinai
